Ya.... I'm not liking the cap on the event either, this isn't a trip where you don't want alot of people in the group it's a stationary event. Everyone else would be more than happy to have as many people as they can show up. And the answer given "pay more attention " I'm sorry but there are alot of venues to keep track of.... not just this one...... it's a BIG desert.
@cowboy4x4
I see you have 4 posts on this Forum and you're telling us we're doing it all wrong. Your complaints are noted, but rooted in ignorance of the facts. I have rules and regulations I must abide by, and we have a long history of successful events partly because we play by the rules even if we don't like them.
That said, this is not just a Forum, it's a Community. We have members nationwide and many of these members know each other in real life, not just online. This is by design.
Your comment about there being a lot of venues (groups) to keep track of is true. I too am a member of many, many groups both personally and professionally.
I and most of the people on the RSVP list make American Adventurist our home Forum. People who stay engaged with this Community year after year know who we are and what we do, and it's not that hard to keep track of if someone is really a part of this Community.
120 trucks is a LOT to wrangle. Like
@bob91yj said above, it's a circus. And like you mentioned, it is a BIG desert.
But, we don't just do whatever the hell we want to do out there either. That's not what this Community is all about. Quite honestly, groups that go rogue and disregard BLM rules for events are part of the problem and their reputation has made the word "Jeepers" a bad word with the BLM. It's taken us time to prove to the BLM that we're not the
Bro Dezert or
Burning Man or
Billy Bob crowd. We aim to keep it that way by playing by the rules.
So, if you'd like to join us at an event the Mountain Rendezvous dates are announced, we usually open up RSVP about 60 days out
