This is NOT fun, this is VANDALISM of the landmark.

Thanks for the update! The original video was pulled before I could see it and I was wondering from the chat here if it was the old Mojave bus. People suck sometimes.... Glad to see it was up righted.

I wonder what a Ranger would think if they came across these kind of shenanigans out there? Anyone get a license plate number off the original video?

License plate was very clear in the video and reported per other postes throughout the offroad community. NFS, BLM at least. Not sure about local sheriff.

From the reports on the other Forum, the culprits were reported to the authorities.

Only now the bus is back on it's wheels, no evidence. Only the video is proof of their shameful act. Don't get me wrong, I applaud it's being put back, but did the LEO community get a chance to document the act first?

Just to be clear, those guys are NOT a true rep of those on "Steel Soldiers".

No doubt. I hear good things about that group so I'm sure most folks won't blame them for the actions of a few morons.

That thing would'nt last 3 weeks out my way. It would be cut for scrap

That's the truth...it would be cut up, thrown in the back of a trailer park pick-up truck and sold at the scrapyard to go buy meth in short order. We've lost a lot of the late 19th century oil industry relics scattered through out the woods here over the last couple of years because of high scrap prices and the scourge of drugs.

A "landmark." The significance of this landmark? Father Junipero Serra drive it on his bus route to the mission schools? I find it amusing such attention is given to a piece of trash that the original owner just dumped in the desert to rot. The bloody thing should be hauled onto a trailer and taken to the smelter, returning the desert to its original state.

I disagree. Just a guess, but at some point in the past someone got the bus out there intending to use it as shelter on their homestead, for whatever reason, the current location is as far as they got. IMO, it has historical significance of how things might have been done in our recent past.

I understand that there is a fine line between junk and history... kind of like porn and art, can't define it, but I know the difference when I see it!
