Thinking about bringing this to DRV for one reason...

It's basically a 1 gallon glass jug that you fill with beer, most breweries offer them. especially microbreweries.

Are you talking kilt lifter by pike brewing, or a different brewery?

Nope Kiltlifter by Four Peaks…its like their cornerstone brew. What got their name on the map. If you go to a generic restaurant here and they claim to have local brews on tap 9/10 its Kiltlifter. Its good, its just not that good IMO. There are many other good local brews here, including some of the other stuff Four Peaks makes.

Most growlers are glass, but some are not. Hydroflask for example makes an insulated metal one.

They come in different sizes but 64oz (a half gallon, not a full gallon) is most common in my experience.

Here in Oklahoma you cant get a growler refilled, and the original one has to be low point beer, 3.2 alcohol. Then again all real beer is sold at room tempature unless you go to a bar/restaurant. But hey we can have pretty much any gun we want so its all good.

You're right, I was mistaken. It's a half gallon, not a full gallon.

Too bad CA law prevents breweries from filling the hydroflask. I was pretty upset when I found that one out.

I just checked out the hydro flask growler. So much want!!!! Wish I had an extra $50 laying around.

I heard they were trying to change that, but I'm not sure what the status is. You can always get a legal growler fill then carefully transfer to the Hydroflask at home. Just make sure the container is properly clean and minimize any foaming when you pour.

That is what I do, I fill my H24 growler, go out to the parking lot and pour into my hydroflask, then go in and refill the growler

Yeah, that's what I have been doing. I thought about putting mine in the laser etcher at work and burning Stone Brewery's logo on it... but wasn't sure they would buy off on it. From what I've been told, as long as it has the company's name/logo on it, it's legal... could be a lot more to the law than that though.

IIRC, techinically, glass growlers are not allowed.. I think.

See BLM rule #4:

BLM Rules said:
4. Possession of glass beverage containers is prohibited in all developed sites and areas and all ORV open areas. This rule is in effect for all Off-Road Vehi-cle (ORV) open areas and also developed
sites and areas managed by the El Centro, Barstow, Palm Springs-South Coast, Ridgecrest, and Needles Field Offices.

We were at Fiesta Island a few years back (when alcohol was allowed), a buddy of mine (Bud) was drinking Corona's out of a glass bottle. The police stopped by, told him he couldn't drink out of glass bottles on the beach. Bud said OK, reached into his Jeep, pulled out his coffee cup, which was blue colored glass, poured the beer in that. The po-po thanked us for being co-operative and went on her way. The rest of us could hardly contain ourselves watching the whole thing go down.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Bud was a crack up about stuff like that. I miss that guy.
