The Happy Camper thread.....

I've heard that hydrogen peroxide baking soda and dry ice tightly sealed in a bottle makes a nice glow.

So does a SOBE bottle full of gas, with the tiniest needle hole punched in the bottle lid, gently placed upright in the center of a roaring fire...the glow is only for a second or two, anything within 50 ft during the period that it is glowing is prone to a light surface burn. On a good night (or bad depending on perspective), you'll have a ring of Ranger's trucks around your camp in short order, most with the glow of their headlights and flashing reds and blues lighting up your camp for you. Makes for a hell of a spectacle...folks camped around you will completely forget what they were supposed to be doing if you do it right! (or so I've been told)

This one was done right, one in ten or so go horribly wrong, which can get ugly!

I've seen them go wrong. One of several reasons I am not a big fan of the flat billed TTORA crowd...

I love shenanigans like the next guy, but I draw the line at the paint blistering, eye injury and shrapnel producing variety ;)

^^^^One of the reasons I usually camp on the edge of any group campsite. I can choose to participate in whatever debauchery is going on in the main camp area, or sit in the bleachers and watch!

Yeah, we've tried that but we always end up at ground zero for some reason... LOL

We are continuing our streak for being rained on every time we camp this season. We are at the Piney Woods group campground on the Kerr Reservoir camping with a group of CampInn trailer owners. Thunder lightning rain fun....

Beats sitting in the house watching freaking GOLF, like I'm doing! Hopefully the weather clears out for you.
