Synthetic Winch Rope recommendations

Careful what you ask for... I am having trouble getting pics to display, LMK if they don't appear

I ordered via phone from South East Overland. They were very helpful. The rope arrived 7 days later.

Just a bunch of google drive links. Try clicking the "upload a file" button and loading them directly here.

I would suggest changing that drum connector it doesn't look safe to an old geezer? looks like someones electrical terminal?

The only real purpose is to locate the rope on the drum. It's the friction of the entire first layer on the drum that actually keeps it together.

No worries with that connector all.

I'd suggest some Factor 55 on the end of that rope rather than a hook.

YMMV :)

Well I guess I've been schooled

I've been kind of in love with their new hook. I just love the way a hook looks, it also does have it's uses and you can still use it as a closed system. If someone does a group buy, I'll be all over it. :)

That is a very nice bit of farkle for sure.

I'd switch those fairlead rollers over to urethane ones too. ;)

Good eye. At the very least I'd pull off those steel rollers and go over them with an eye towards any burrs or edges from previous steel cable use. If they were free of any of that, or at least touched up with file and sand paper it might be acceptable.

Delrin rollers are a nice touch.

For the cost of those Delrin, seems like a worthwhile investment. Really, you already dropped a few hundred on the line. What's an extra hundred?

Another vote of confidence for dealing with Steve from Southeast Overland. Back when I was trying to learn a bit about synthetic, I met him up at URE at a land rover event. He gave me a one hour, one on one class ont hee rope and splicing, etc... When I did buy synthetic, I bought from him, and have done other business with him since. Value in knowing who you are dealing with.
