do these fenders look to be too long? Tire size is 235x75Rx15" what I'm looking for is clearance about 5" on top & some good clearance on the sides. Honest opinion please.
Nothing what some low tack tape & a band saw with a metal blade can remove

Depends on articulation I guess. Good axle articulation in a crossed axle situation could use that space. Personally, I like good fender and mud flap coverage as it keeps everything from being covered in goo when you get to camp.

We run pretty much National forest rds, & logging rds were their is some suspension travel, but nothing major. I agree I do not want mud slung up the sides.
My last trailer build I felt I removed too much & it slings mud all the way back to the rear awning

IMHO, proportionally, yes, they look too long.

That was one thing I noticed when building/modifying my trailer - most trailer fenders were too long. The shorter ones look much better.

But, as Dave alluded to, mud flaps would keep things cleaner and dryer.

based on the coverage of the fenders on our trailer, I would say the front is about right and the back is a couple of inches too long
