Mujihadeer attack in NW PA

Thanks for the heads up. I just so happen to have a new/unused tranny cooler sitting in parts chest looking for a use.

Call your local dealer with teh VIN, there is also an open rear spring replacement and lower control arm bushings? on many of this gen Tacoma. Totally free! I also just received a notice on a recall/fix on my spare tire plate for replacement - gotta hate living in a snow/salt belt!

On that Snow/Salt thing... I know in Alaska they use Potassium Chloride for ice on all of their roads, it works extremely well, and doesn't rust out vehicles. Why isn't this used on a wider scale??

I know it's a bit more expensive, but it's got to be cheaper than letting your car rust away.

Went and looked at that Tacoma today spent 10 minutes and left without taking it for a test drive. Unseen in the photos were large dents and a tear in the sheetmetal behind the rear flares on both sides of the bed and a rusty frame. Jay's tink, tink, thunk rang true. We'll keep looking.

Sorry Mark, that's a bummer. I really find it annoying when folks advertise less that the whole truth.

Patience pays off amigo, lots of good trucks out there.

After looking at seven Tacomas (four with rusted out bedsides, 2 with bad frames and one that we just couldn't deal with its owner), three Wranglers (1 with a perfect tub but rusted out floor pans), four 4Runners (rusted hatches and rear bumpers) we finally found Allison a ride...

130,000 miles, absolutely rust free (a miracle around here), drives like new, Rhino lined bed, super nice interior, and bought for a real good deal. We spent a little more than we were orginally planning but this truck is so nice and the deal so good we couldn't pass. Every other vehicle we looked at that we thought we might buy would have required new tires, body repairs, seat covers, bed covers or some such thing to get it where we wanted it to be. This one...pass the keys to the girl and watch her drive off. Done. Its nice enough that Michelle is thinking about calling the Taco for her own and giving her 4Runner to Ally.

We'll pick it up here in a couple of days, its Sunday so all the notaries are closed, give it some attention and let it and Allison bond. The girl is giddy with the fact that she has her own Adventurist vehicle now.

Thank God that's over...I hate buying used cars.

Edit...The only thing worse is buying a new one.

Congratulations! Have I got a front bumper for you... to deflect those suicide Mujihadeer of course.

wow! That is wonderful... of coarse DC Tacos are the best (after an FZJ80) Congrats to Allison!
Have your dealer run the VIN - LCA bushing recall (free) and the new spare tire lift (free) as well as a frame check and treatment. I agree on the tranny cooler (first mod I did) AT flush and adjust the parking brake.

Yep those DC Tacos are just like my Tundra...except they're slower, haul less, tow less, get less mpg, are less comfortable, and apparently are driven by giggly college girls. :tip

I was really looking for a regular cab with the 2.7 and an automatic but just couldn't find a clean enough truck. This DC was only $1000 dollars more than the 95 to 2001 regular cabs we were looking at and it is in far better shape by 10 fold than any truck we saw. Allison wants to drive it down to the MON and get a picture along side your DC and James and mine Tundras.

So does this mean you will be keeping the LJ?

Yep...I think. Still waffling about selling the Mouser. With two girls in college now and the Jeep getting hardly used, selling it would make sense. With all of Allison's scholarship I could just about pay for all of four years of her college tuition with the sale of the Mouser and not have to borrow any money. While I love my Jeep, I love being debt free better.

I may be in the LC for Mon.... Deb wants the trailer and I can't carry the boats on top of the Flippac.

A truck and it's girl...love at first sight. :stars

Allison has named the truck Gatsby so it looks like she's well on her way to enjoying the Toyota :koolaid.
