Last night at 9:18 pm an attack of critter jihad occurred when a radicalized fuzzy head threw itself into the path of Allison's Jeep...

Neither the Bambislamist terrorist nor the Jeep survived the attack. Hell, that damn deer weren't even salvageable to eat. Allison is fine but is really, really, pissed off. I fear for the local deer populace's safety whence hunting season arrives.

The fate of the Jeep is uncertain as to whether it will be repaired or totalled, but besides the obvious damage there is damage to the steering components and the braking system. Time will tell for sure.

Anybody know of a good deal on a 1st gen Tacoma?

Darn fuzzy heads need to be thinned out I say!

Glad she's OK, next rig needs a BambiSlayer front bumper ;)

Had a deer hit the side of my truck on Saturday, luckly no damage... If it had jumpped out a second sooner I would be extremely glad I had my ARB bumper. Just never thought it would happend to me, been having some bad luck with things running into my truck... about to upgrade to an M1A2 Abrams. Hopefullly you get some upgrade money.

Glad Allison is OK.

Jodi and I were in PA last week, and it seems as though PA needs to increase it's deer carcass clean-up budget. The number of dead deer along the side of the highways is crazy.

Glad to hear that your loved one is fine. I hope the jeep is fixable if you want it to be or totaled if that route works better. Sorry to hear about the deer not being recoverable. Waste of good food source.

Can't tell if that wind deflector is cracked or not. Interesting if it survived and the bumper got bent.

Maybe the government should provide deeritarian relief and career training to more moderate deer religious groups. Perhaps that would ease the tide of radicalized suicide attacks.

Lots down here - rust free

Rub it in why don't ya.

I'm gonna go look at this one this weekend...

'03;2.7;Auto;108,000 miles; rust free; needs tires; asking $6500. We'll see what happens.

Just bring your log home spraying stuff! ; )

You could just trade me the Cruiser for the work...

Or we could just eat 'em. :deerhunter

The Game Commission stopped picking up carcasses years ago supposedly do to budget contraints. But now that the PAGC is flush with money from gas drilling on gamelands they seem to want to spend it on fancy new offices and not on actually accomplishing anything.

Check the frame. Toyota will replace it for free IF the owner had it treated late last year, if not you may be out of luck. The rust will be inside rail near the front leaf spring hanger. Check with a hammer - tink, tink, thud was what mine did ; ) Otherwise looks very clean!

Dadgum! I just nailed one a few weeks back. It was running up a steep hill to the road. When it bounded up onto the pavement, it was just a glimpse in my right periphery. Then it disappeared in front of my truck. I would surmise as it landed on the road it crouched to leap again. Alas, it leaped it's last.
Thunk! Thump, thump.
As I looked in my driver's side view mirror I saw it slide to a rest in the center of the road. Not a twitch. Deader n' a door nail.
I stopped a short distance up to survey the damage. My license plate was formed to my ARB. Pretty sure that was Bambi's head. Some hair here and there but that was it. I'm surprised it didn't roll up as it passed under the truck but... I'll take the bit of food fortune at face value.

Well the insurance company totalled the Jeep. Ummm...I guess that morning I took a few weeks back with some Por-15, Bondo and some Rattle paint paid off as they gave us nearly twice what we had in it. Not that I'm complaining mind you...but it weren't the cleanest Jeep on the block. They paid enough that we can buy that '03 Tacoma and still have money left over. So I'm going to look at that Taco. Thanks for the frame tip Jay...anything else i should be on the look-out for?

That's a good year, solid motor (direct descendant of the legendary 22RE). Is it 4WD?

If you buy it make sure you flush the trans (all fluids really)

Inspect the frame around the rear wheel wells, most common bend spot.

Check coolant for "pink milkshake."

Yeppers, its 4WD. Living in the snowbelt like we do I wouldn't buy anything that wasn't at least AWD.

Anytime I buy another used car the first thing done is a complete fluid flush on everything. Coolant, motor oil, diffs, transfer case, tranny the whole works.

10-4. I'm not expecting much drama with this truck, an older gentleman owns it and used it mostly for hauling golf clubs around by the sounds of it. But you never know until you go look.

I would recommend an immediate mod... External tranny cooler. The stock configuration is prone to failure. There are lots of threads on T4R.org that reference this, as it is the same as the 4Runner.
