Lets Talk Sleeping Bags

I use a Wiggy's OD Hunter with hood. 36"X92" . It's extra long and wide for Sasquatch descendents like me. I wouldn't want to backpack it anywhere due to the weight, but it fits me well with lots of extra room and is great in the camper. I also have an older Kelty, a North Face and a couple of military bags all which could stand to be a little longer.

I also think bag ratings are based on having wool base layers not cotton.

+1 for Mountain Hardwear. I have a Tallac 20º that belonged to my uncle and it still goes strong. I even ripped a baffle washing it and sent it to them and they repaired and return shipped it no charge (had to pay $7 to ship to them).

Just slept in 24º weather with the my bag a swag tent and merino base layers and I slept great

I have three bags depending on the season and how I'm camping.

When in the RTT summer time I use the Big Agnes Cabin Creek its a double bag and is awesome for sleeping with the MRS.

When camping solo in the bed of the truck spring, summer, and fall I use the Nemo Mezzo Loft sleeping bag. It offers more room when solo sleeping and not cold weather.

When solo camping in the winter, because the MRS will have no part of that. I use the Nemo Verve 20 degree bag and a wool blanket if its real cold.

The bottom line is I like to stretch out and be comfy!
