Issues and suggestions for the forum

The forum was down this morning when I tried to log on. First attempt was at 5:45 am EST, second was at 6:30 am.
 
Is there a way to view all new post in the iPhone mode as opposed to the full site mode?

Did you try the box at the lower left corner of this screen that allows the user to choose their viewing style?

We have 3 styles enabled - light background (gray and white), dark background (Dark) and default mobile style.
 
It is not part of the vBulletin default file types. No custom file types have been added. I will confer with staff to see if there is any reason not to allow it and if no objections, I can add it.
 
Connectivity?

Initially we had some major frustrations with server downtimes and database errors.

We've been live almost two weeks now and I have not had a database error in quite a few days, and connectivity (server uptime) seems to have vastly improved IMHO.

How is your experience here on AAV?
 
I have been using it from a number of different locations and computers and have not seen many connectivity or speed issues.

Same as above; was a little sluggish at first and a few glitches when responding to posts but over the last several days it's been running smoothly. Do we have a "knock-on-wood" avatar? If so, insert here...

A few glitches and drop offs the first couple of days, but she's been running smooth on both the laptop and the Kindle as of late.
 
I can only reply using quick reply. If I hit "reply to thread" nothing happens. (On my iPhone and iPad and computer at work). I have to do a quick reply...

Also I can't start a new thread in the garage... I guess I'm not good enough and should return to another forum. :)

Note: last comment was SARCASM!!!!!

Regarding the Garage, members cannot post at the root level of that forum, only within the sub-forum (i.e. Vehicle Builds, etc.).

I am sending you a PM about the posting issue.

This is because the QUICK-REPLY box at the bottom of every post is the full featured editor, in other words, it has all of the toolbars as the "full" editor that uses its own page to reply. Now, if you wish to use the full page editor, you can click the GO ADVANCED, and work from there. But essentially, there isn't a difference.

Got it. In other forums clicking on "reply to thread" brings up the full editor instead of just typing in the quick reply box...
 
Yes, there is some issue and I am trying to sort it out. I have been manually approving your posts but need to find out why. Stay tuned...
