Is craigslist getting un-usable?

Wanted to add to the CL is a pain gripes.
Apparently using the reply button on the ad sends it through CL's anonymizer and also filters more of the responses. I've been getting emails this week on the Little Guy asking about emails (which I never got) which never had a response.
Feeling more like this is a case of "you get what you pay for".

Interesting. I'm a huge fan of Craigslist. I've gotten cars, trucks, auto parts, camping gear, electronics, gardening supplies, JOBS, pretty much everything from CL (including my housemates)! Craigslist is my go-to. As mentioned, it's helpful to have a very descriptive ad and ignore shady, short emails. It's pretty easy to see what's a scam and what's for real based on how it's written. As for meeting people, I've had people come to my house for large items like a washing machine, or I went to their house (most recently I got my home water softener for $40 from someone - works perfectly and is $800 new). I'll also meet people in the work parking lot or a business parking lot.

Deals are out there if you use the search features and narrow it down well. Open communication lets you know who you're dealing with. As suggested, it never hurts to bring a friend. (The picture recommendation isn't always true - I found my beachfront Malibu apartment via an ad with no pictures. Open communication got me the address and Google maps showed me the gem which was undervalued for the market. By far the greatest apartment I've ever had).

OH - and watch the movie "Craigslist Joe" for a relaxing chill movie that gives you hope in humankind.
