Anyone willing to lend a hand at drv?

That's how we install them on all the Sheriff Expeditions :)

Not even a fuse. Just make sure you bring electrical tape and split loom, two sizes, 1 size large enough for each cable (only need up to 5 feet of this) and 1 size large enough to go around BOTH cables together. This will protect the cables from snags and pinches and pokes up to the battery.

I'm in to help and/or comment and/or point and laugh. Honk your horn three times when you are ready to get started and I'll saunter over.

I'll see what I can do to get the winch loaded into the truck before it's time to leave.. Not sure I'll be able to, but I'll try!

If I throw my hat in the supervision ring it'll be almost like a government project! Better bring more beer Scott, you know how those government deals always go way over budget!

I was at total wine and picked up a few goodies. Going to Costco today as well to pick up more goodies in cans... I'll have plenty of beverages.

One thing you may consider is beefing up the attachment to the cross member as a lot of pulls are not straight on but have sideways component . It's traditionally poor form to separate the receiver end from the cross member. Just my .02 Glad you gott'er done though

That's definetly come thing I will be looking at. I'm sure it can use all the beefing up it can get!

Ok, so after some shuffling around, it doesn't look like im gonna have room to bring the winch with me. So I guess we can still congregate around my truck and have beverages and stuff.

Thanks Raul. Simi is a bit far for me. I am going to see if I can work something out to get it there. The biggest issue I have is that I will be parking the truck on Thursday and Friday in a public place, so I am trying to get anything of value inside the truck to deter theft. That's my biggest issue right now... I'll see what I can do.

I would be willing to put it in my truck if u want to drop it off at my place. I'm in simi valley

This just happened.. need to swing by home depot and pickup fairlead bolts, and maybe some additional wiring, since I'm not sure the cables provided will reach my battery. We may be wiring a winch in the desert. :)

Do you not like that winch? Maybe it's the pic, but it looks like a tall curb is going to damage it/knock it off. Having said that it probably works better than my manual come along that I keep in the truck.

I knew that would be something that was said, regarding the picture. I know you can't tell, but my driveway slopes up the to the street, so I am kind of taking the picture at an angle. Yes, my departure angle has suffered a little bit, but it's not nearly as bad as the picture makes it out to be. Check it out at DRV over some beverages ;)

I think I'd still be looking to fab something that would put the winch up around the tow hooks.

You run into some $$$ that you need help spending, let me know. Our race team crew chief has a shop in Yucaipa (LJ Engineering, shameless plug) that can fab something up for you. LJ is about three feet tall (just kidding), and ornery as hell (not kidding), but the dude can build fabricate most anything. His motto is...if you can draw a picture of it, he can build it. He's a Dodge guy too, he's got a bitchin' Dodge chase truck.

There's a company I found that actually makes a 2" reciever that bolts to the to hooks, that I found after I got this setup.. I guess we will see how it works.

You can add me as another Supervisor and Inspector.

Add me for another "supervisor"
