2019 MRV Pot-Luck & Camp Cooking Competition sponsored by L. T. WRIGHT KNIVES


Here is my recipe too.

1 6# Bag of Italian meatballs
60 oz BBQ Sauce ( I used Sweet Baby Rays}
1/2 Red Onion
4 oz of fresh chopped chives
1/2 a stick of unsweetened butter
1 Can Coors Banquet Beer
You will need 12 QT Dutch oven
Grill of some kind, flat top probably best

Step one - Base
Saute Red onions with stick of butter in your Dutch oven over low heat

Step two - Sauce
Add 42 oz or so of BBQ sauce to the dutch oven, Low temp below a simmer

Step three - Char
Grill 2#s or so of meatballs with 4 oz of Beer and 6 oz of BBQ Sauce, make sure they all get at least 1 but preferably two nice char spots. Make sure you cook off Beer before transferring meatballs to dutch oven. Repeat this about 3 times.

By the time you have braised all the meatball and filled up your dutch oven, add a sprinkling of chopped chives and place a bowl of the chopped chives next to you dutch oven
