This year, from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, Mojoe Outfitters and American Adventurist will present the Bacontastic Happy Hour.

Your attendance, and participation, is requested. And if you know anything about Mojoe Outfitters you know you better step on the gas getting to DRV or you'll just have to imagine how good the food was...

Cam will fill us in on the details, and his needs for "crowd sourcing" some supplies and assistance to make this a truly epic mixer in the Mojoe tradition!
 
Bacontastic Happy Hour Details!

Mojoe Outfitters is pleased to once again partner with American Adventurist to host another fun filled evening catering to all the gourmands in our overlanding community! In addition to Dave, I've been talking to Frank from OutdoorX4 Magazine who has been wanting to do a little photo based article on the Mojoe Griddle for some time. When he decided to attend the DRV this year he asked me what we were going to cook and I blurted out "BACON!" And so it shall be.

Soooo, for this event, we're going to pull out all the stops and set up a "Build your own" Bacon Sandwich Bar! We're going to set up three Mojoe Griddles and cook mountains of thick sliced bacon that you can use to build a bacon sandwich that is so far beyond the standard issue BLT that you just may be startled and a little confused! The toppings that we will be cooking for your BS build will include various roasted chilies (pascilla, Hungarian, jalalenos etc), grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, tomato, bleu cheese, etc. and several different sauces.

My son grew up eating bacon sandwiches with all kinds of crazy (and unconventional) toppings on his bacon sandwiches for breakfast. He loves them and so will you! We never put lettuce on a single one!

As most of you have seen, bacon has doubled in price in the last year. So I would really appreciate it if those that want to eat some glorious sandwiches could bring either a pound of thick sliced bacon or a loaf of your favorite high end bread like cibatta, sour dough, multi-grain, etc. Not required, just desired! We'll bring everything else.

So come on in, set up camp and good eats will be waiting for you at the Sizzling Bacontastic Happy Hour!

I'm sure we'll be down for a couple of pounds. For those considering bringing bacon, if you don't usually check the "butcher block" section of the store, take a look, I find that the bacon, among other things, is usually cheaper and seems to be better quality than most of the pre packaged stuff.
 
Many thanks to Cam and whoever he gets to help him with this project. Lot's of time and energy goes into doing this for us. We camped next to Cam a couple of years ago when he made his introduction of the MoJoe grill to us. He and his side kick (Chris?) in his "overland Honda" are a blast to sit around and shoot the breeze with. Not only is he a hell of a cook, he has a wealth of knowledge about travelling in the southwest.

Thanks for that, Bob! I already have two offers from helpers - Ralph and Paul. If anyone else wants to get greasy, let me know! And yes, my friend Kris will be there minus the "Baja Civic" - He'll be riding in my truck.

Cam, not sure about the preserve, but I live on the south/southeast side, at the end of Yuma. I am trying to get off work/home by Thursday evening, but there are no guarantees. PM if you want to discuss.
 
You've got a helper, some bacon and some bread outta me. I am planning on being there around 8 or 9 pm on thursday.
