IMO, the true "life hack" for a brake line fitting is a 6" pipe wrench. By design, they continue to get tighter as torque is applied on the handle, by design the teeth dig in. I've had every brand of line wrench made (Snap-On, Matco, Mac, etc), every last one of them spread and rounded a fitting at some point.
That thing will fit in any toolbox, gear bag, center console... countless uses. $15 at Home Depot. You'll thank me during your next trail fix!

I totally get why they have Groundhog Day in February.
What I don't get is why we don't have Catepillar Day in November, where the media gathers around and makes a big deal about how thick the fur is on a wooly catepillar, so we'll know in advance how bad the winter will be?
