A lot of places are now sold out, a few still have some left, I was able to order one from Radio City in MN at a close out price of $289.
I thought the FT-8900 already replaced it?
The problem is it is a quad band with a single antenna source. Either you split it or you run the fragile quad band with coil antenna. A branch strike killed the dual band version of the same diamond design. The Larsen I have now has survived some abuse.8900 is a quad band Dave. It's been around for awhile already. I've had the 8800 in the truck for years and love it. Picked up another at same $289 from DX Engineering for my commuter Prius and installed it this past weekend. Nice to already have the programming software too!

I have the Ft 8900 in my jeep and love it!
