Phoenix, slide in, pop out, pop up, for a flat bed. There might be some answers there that I didn't have questions for!

http://www.truckcampermagazine.com/news/phoenix-flatbed-pops-up-and-slides-out

I have exchanged a couple of e-mails in the past with Phoenix about ordering a camper. Didn't pull the trigger at the time. THEN, I read a well documented thread regarding some issues with a customer Phoenix Camper, and their subseqent response (on Crackbook...err, I mean Facebook), no less, with a somewhat different story. With the documentation from the customer, I tend to believe his story and Phoenix went to a bit of trouble to create an alternate version.

None the less, if the flatbed version meets quality standards for many years of off road use, I may find myself interested in their products once again. I would be like a fly on doo-doo monitoring the progress of the build though!

If anyone is interested in the story from the new owner that I referenced, PM me, I'll get you the link.

$70k is a little steep, other options at that price point. Phoenix certainly has the will to try new things. I need some more convincing on their quality control/durability for what my use (or abuse) will be.

I've really considered a new camper, had Phoenix at the top of my list. The more I thought about it, the more I decided that my current camper is still meeting my needs for the 50 nights or so a year that we use it. Putting a service body truck bed on it is my next plan.
