James Baroud "Tentes Off Road", based in France, is well known for Carbon Fiber and roof top tents among Dakar pit crews and Africaphiles. This new unit is priced at about 43K and looks to be a plug and play "slide in camper" solution for the Hilux.

What do you think?

What I found interesting is that as I was contemplating the redesign of the interior of my FlipPac, I stumbled across this. And the interior is VERY close to what I was trying to get to. I like it a lot.

I looked hard at it too. I always look at the design (VWs and Dormobiles too) and figure out what I want to do.... but I feel the interior has no space for storage... The thing I like about the FP, is the ability to pull my boxes for tons of space. I also think this designs gives up a lot as a slide in....

He makes some other RTT's we don't see over here, this one looks like a gucci Maggiolina

My tent, the Oasis II is a French tent... And no one likes dealing with the company, Trekking, to distribute in the USA, and apparently Trekking doesn't mind.

Does this guy have a US distributor? I like that maggiolina-like one

No US distributor that I am aware of. Could be a solid opportunity for the right person to bring some in :)

Way to much coin for a fancy flip pac! How would it work in the mountains, high winds and heavy Cascade snow? For that kind of money I would buy a Taco XP camper.

The high cost is due to the carbon fiber shell... Very pricey stuff.

Just now stumbled across this. That camper is unbelievably cool but I'm with WashingtonTaco. It's a TON of coin and while I'm positive its been tested through all sorts of conditions (given how extensively JB tests their products prior to bringing them to market), that's a product I see only a small number of people willing to spend that kind of dough for.
