The Adventurists...anyone up for the Mongol Rally or the Monkey Run?

The Adventurists website - anyone checked this stuff out before?

In particular the Mongol Rally and the Monkey Run both caught my eye.

The Mongol Rally is 10,000 miles from the UK to Russia in a vehicle that's under 1000cc's and is a piece of $h1t.

The Monkey Run is a week long run in some awesome places (Morocco, Romania, Peru and Australia) on a 48cc motorcycle similar to the Honda Trail 50.

Looks like an absolutely hellacious riot!

Seems like we could swing something like that here in the US of A...anyone in?

NORRA Mexican 1000 rally is happening now. That's much closer and looks super fun!

I've chased the NORRA race. If you're going to do it you want to be in one of the faster class of cars or else by the time you get to the end of the stage the end of the day cocktail party is already over.

I spent a day in a ditch outside a Pemex outside of Catavina replacing the transmission in a 4400 (KoH class) car, and a night in a hotel parking lot in Bahia de Los Angeles (Bay of LA) replacing an engine in one of the cars. Needless to say, I missed a couple of the parties.
