First off, I'd like to thank all of the folks who contributed Pot Luck items for everyone to enjoy, and of course, our Dutch Oven chefs for their incredible dishes!

Competition aside, everyone who got to eat were the real winners! But it's still fun in the friendly sport of things to have a little competition, and rewards!

Tim (taugust) won first place with his El Dorado Casserole, and took home the Tembo Tusk Lantern Hanger!

Tembo Tusk's own, Paul won second place with his (dish name being sought), and won the Tembo Tusk Buffalo Straps!

Andy (Rocket-Scientist) took third place with his version of a Shepherd's Pie! He scored the new Snow Peak MOLA head lamp!

Our sponsors Tembo Tusk and Snow Peak deserve a big thank you for their support and generosity!

I invite our winners and participants to share their Dutch Oven recipes here in this thread for everyone to enjoy!

I also want to point out that Jerry from Tembo Tusk has redesigned his Camp Table System. They are easier to assemble, incredibly easy to customize, and still manages to pack up small!

We quickly reconfigured his setup from a large table, to a buffet line in minutes!

Great work, Jerry! Easily handled the load of all those dutch ovens!

I hope everyone liked the new voting system, I think we're going to stick with it.

Great...now I'm starving. The food looks freakin' awesome.

BTW...I'm diggin' the new avatar Mitch.

I'd love to have the recipe to that Taco (Pie?) That was my favorite!

Hi Lyrpa:

Are you referring to the Carnitas Tacos that I cooked first in the Dutch Oven and then on the Mojoe Griddle? Or maybe your are talking about the quesadillas that we cooked? If so, I would be happy to give you the recipe.

Cam

I'd like to know more about the quesadillas, those were awesome!!

But I think she was talking about the doritos dish that Tim made.

Yeah, It was Tim's recipe. I didn't get to the Carnitas Tacos cause I was stuffed but the Quesdillas were very good. It was nice to meet you guys! Love your invention :bbq and hope to have some pancakes.

How did I miss quesadillas? :dunno

My buddy Kris was pumping out Mojoe quesadillas on the Camp Chef stove for over an hour! He was also taking plates full of slices around through the crowd to try to make sure that most people got a chance at one. I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for you!

Hi Lyrpa:

Great to meet you too and thanks. We were planning on making the World's Forth Largest Pancake for dessert (with syrup and whipped cream) but we ran out of time and everyone was called away to the awards ceremony and raffle. If you want to see what making the World's Fourth Largest Pancake is all about, watch this video:

We've seen the video. We thought you were going to do this for a Sunday morning breakfast treat :)

I was sitting 3 feet in front of your grill. I must have already been in a food coma :eat

El Dorado Casserole

Here is my version of the El Dorado Casserole that won first prize. Glad everyone enjoyed it. The original I got from Camp-Cook.com. Joanne's forum is a great source for recipes of all sorts. As I often do, this is a modification of the original.

1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
1 lb. ground Italian sausage, browned and drained (can cook with the beef)
1 medium onion, diced (I browned this with the meat)
2 (8 ounce) cans of tomato sauce
1 package medium taco seasoning
1 (24 ounce) container cottage cheese
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
2 (4 ounce) cans chopped green chilies (optional)
1 (11 ½ ounce) bag Doritos (I used Cool Ranch)
2 cups shredded Pepper Jack cheese (this had Jalapenos and Habenero)
2 cups shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese

Mix beef, tomato sauce, taco seasoning and diced onion. Mix cottage cheese, sour cream and chilies. Crush Doritos. Layer one time in a 12” DO in the following order. ¾ bag of Doritos, hamburger mixture, cottage cheese mixture, Pepper Jack cheese, Cheddar cheese, remaining Doritos.

Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. (Roughly 10 coals bottom (in a ring under the outer edge) and 14 coals top (mostly around outer edge, some in the middle)

Serves 8-10
