Sunglasses...

So, it would appear that my 5 year old Oakley sunglasses have fallen prey to the abyss of a toddler mess. I can't seem to find them, which means I need some new ones. My eyes are fairly sensitive to light, and I'm outside for roughly half of my shift, so I'd like something decent, with a price tag around $100 or less. Got any recommendations on brands? Those that know me, know I have a pretty small face, so a company that makes sunglasses for the little guy is appreciated.

I have tried all sorts of glasses, and I always come back to Native at any rate, and as far as I am concerned, if it does not have good polarization you are wasting your money at any price

If you don't mind tactical colors get friend that is active military to order you some new Oakleys. I don't know how the prices are now but they used to be like a third of the retail cost.

I'm looking at their website the "throttle" glasses are S-M frame which would wotk for me. Sunglasses are something that need to be tried on before bought. I have loved my Oakley glasses in the past, and the last few pairs have all been oakley. That being said, I have heard nothing but good about native, so that might be a good way to go.

Joker, I have one family member that is a military air force captain, but he's deployed at the moment, so I won't ask him for a favor, at least he not before he returns from deployment safely...

That might be what I do. For obvious reasons I won't shop at REI, but I've seen the "throttle" native glasses on amazon for $65 plus free shipping, sold through amazon by native, which is a good deal, imho... looking for other brands too, so if anyone has suggestions.. I usually buy a pair ever 5 to 7 years, so these need to last a while.

Checkout "Cocoons" at one of the big Sporting stores or Amazon. They may not be as "Kool" as Oakley's but are awesome for shooting/fishing and have lots of options for lenses/and frames.

So I'm eyeballing native glasses closely.. good news is, bass pro is a dealer.. might have to go check them out there, as I don't mind supporting them vs Rei

if you decide on Native you can save a ton online, I have never paid more than 60 for a pair. But REI is a good source to try them on

Yeah I've seen the ones I'm looking at for around 60 on amazon. Msrp is 90 or so.

I've been wearing Edge safety glasses for several years, I like them pretty well. I've been mostly buying the Dakura model, its sligthly smaller than the average. They are wrap arounds, and come in a couple colors of reflective lenses. They qualify as safey or shooting glasses also. I've been surprised at the clarity of thgem,....until I lose them, drop them on the lenses in gravel or on concrete, or the dog discovers them as her new toy. At less then $15 at the local lumberyards though, I cant complain too much.

I picked up a great pair of Smith Optics at our last church auction. Great brand new shades came with a nice hard case too. I think I paid $65. They cost $120.00

What do they have rhinestones on them for that price?
If they do, I'm definetly buying them haha.. I buy expensive sunglasses usually. I found that my eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight and the cheap ones don't really work that well for me. My currently lost oakley pair were the cheapest I'd ever bought at 75 bucks.

You need to buy aviators, you're not a cool overlanding guy unless you wear them... You need to make sure you're also wearing your TAD hoodie though, can't be caught in regular guy clothes.

Yeah I do need to pick up some tan TAD pants, the more pockets the better...

Not just any aviator glasses Alex. Randolph Engineering aviator frames (MSRP $400). The kind I used to get issued in the military that cost $27.33 from DLA and have a shoebox full.

Is this the jacket/eyewear combination you were talking about? I found this random picture of some guy on the internet that might provide some visual context to support your assertion.

Tim, you hit the nail right on the head. Everyone should strive to look as cool as this guy.

Here is my attempt:
