Sprinter Adventure Van

Letsgo

Adventurist
This van began as a cargo van. No windows in the body, no insulation, a basic empty shell. It's most significant upgrades during its buildout includes a Webasto Diesel heater that runs independently of the van engine but shares the same fuel source (makes life simple) and 200 watts of roof mounted solar feeding 2 house AGM batteries supporting a 2000 watt invertor . We have never plugged in and the ac fridge is always on. With added thermal insulation, we can boondock year round. The shower can either run out the back with the extention hose and hand held shower attachment or hang inside while standing in a portable shower pan. The 3 panel bed is made of a lightweight aluminum frame, that is stackable or removable to maintain the utility of the Van, while allowing for mountain bikes and gear to stow nicely below. One of the bed panels drops down to make a bench seat while in camp mode. Energy efficient LED's inside and outward facing keep the good time rolling. The new Diesel engine is very efficient. Fully loaded getting 24 mpg! The engine is mated with a 7 spd transmission and tows extremely well.

The little you can see of the interior, looks great. Would you mind sharing a few more photos?

How are the bunk(s) aggranged? Do you have a floor plan drawing to share? The shared feul source is really cool.

Very nice setup! I too would like to see more interior pictures. For curiosity sake, would it be possible to convert a sprinter to 4wd or awd?

The 2015 model will have 4wd as an option, 1 with high only and another with hi/lo:D But the demand is through the roof and the with a starting price around $40K... Optioned out for us between $55-58K:eek:

OP, great looking sprinter, I think we'd all love to see more pictures of your set up.

So rad! The inside looks great as well! What kind of insulation did you use? I heard of some vanners running into trouble with their insulation expanding after install.
