Shower Tent

I've been putting together a "bathroom" kit for dispersed camping and the only piece I can't decide on is the actual shelter. I've seen a bunch on Amazon but most look like generic changing rooms that are barely tall enough to stand in, let alone shower.

What are you using?

We used a Pahque Teepee for a couple of years. It is solid when it is up, will stand through just about anything with plenty of room but it is a pain to put together and requires crawling around on your knees for assembly and disassembly.

we recently just switched to the Lightspeed outdoors privacy tent after seeing them at OVX west. It seems to be just as stable when standing, more useable interior space and it sets up in 30 sec with out crawling around. It is also reasonable priced (I found ours for under 100 shipped) the only down side I see to it is the packed size is slightly larger than the pahaque

Wow I never knew Lightspeed made so many products. We've had the older version of their air bed for 3+ years. I really like the optional floor.

I like the looks of that Lightspeed one. Might have to add that to my kit.

the lightspeed floor is attached, so it just folds out of the way if you don't want it, and lo loose pieces to blow away in the wind and get lost. Forgot to mention that Restop (a forum sponsor) can get the lightspeed privacy tent, but I dont think it is on their website http://www.restop.com/

We've tried a few and found most to be wanting but the one we settled on and really like is the Cabelas Easy-Up Deluxe Shower Shelter. The tent is vary spacious, has a removable floor for easy cleaning, and a nice removable shower caddy The tent's frame is made by Turbo Tent and as a result it is easy and fast to put up. The fabric is thick and well lined making for complete privacy while also holding in the heat on chilly mornings. We would highly recommend it.

Awesome Cris. One I had got destroyed during Expo in NC this year and need to pick up another one. Looks like a great choice and easy setup and take down....

I have one of those popup privacy tents from Amazon (pick a brand, they're all made in the same place in China). It really is a POS. It was, however, cheap (just looked and the prices have gone up considerably), it goes up and comes down very fast (it folds like a large photography reflector)...that's about where the good list ends.

The bad?

The case broke (Zipper) when I opened it the first time. To stay folded it needs the case or something similar. The flap is worthless, the ties to hold it up are worse and the last time I saw that shade of green while outdoors I was playing miniature golf.

Am I going to replace it?

Sure. Well, maybe. Not until I have to, though. For the cost of the better solutions I'll keep using my crappy popup for now. There are other things that come before it on the list of need to buys. I'm also not against some 550 and a tarp.

We have one of these as well, use it for quick trailside stops when there is not anywhere for the wife to hide

I've been through a few of these over the years. Wind is a big issue here in the west, especially in the desert so I had to come up with a different solution. I chose to have a custom enclosure made - it's harder for the wind to blow over the whole truck ;)

At Desert Rendezvous 2015, Fiamma F-35 awning deployed with shower enclosure attached.

EDIT: I get a lot of questions about the FlipPac rain fly and the shower enclosure - both were made by San Luis Obispo Sail and Canvas (AT resells the rain fly, SLO no longer makes the fly but if enough people bug them I bet they would):

Dave did you drive up north to have your shower curtains made or did you send them measurements?

I got one similar to this from Cabela's several years ago. I had one with poles before it. I used it once and it went back. Once you figure the fold up procedure, this thing is a breeze and is up or down in no time (and I am slow). We throw stones in the exterior pockets on windy days. Once in a great while it will have to get tied to a tree.

I've been using the PETT system for years and years. It has hundreds of days out. Still working. A bit spendy but worth it. Sets up in a minute flat and is super durable. There is no floor but I use a small foldable cedar plank step thingy for showering. Works great.
