While I like 100% cotton I have really taken a liking for Tencel which is a natural, wood fiber based, material which is really comfortable to wear..

Ive always tended towards cotton. Poly has traditionally smelled bad much sooner than cotton, but that may be outdated information, they may have changed it somehow.

That's new info, had not heard of Tencel

Fascinating stuff. Sounds very nice compared to cotton.

Price point is probably holding it back from wider acceptance.

We have sheets for the bed made with tencel. Feels amazing when sleeping.

Looks like cotton is taking the W here in the poll!

Missed the poll, but I'll throw my $0.02 in for what it's worth. I'm trying to buy fully synthetic blends from now on. Cotton holds too much moisture for my liking meaning it's equally terrible in the winter or the summer. Synthetic on the other hand wicks away moisture meaning warm and dry in the winter and cool and dry in the summer. So if not fully poly, I'll go poly-blend.

You're not wrong. In the Southern humidity, full poly is the only way to go.

My last few trips down that way made me well aware. Now that I'm wearing long sleeves as much as I can (fuck cancer) I've been investing in long sleeve full poly shirts. I still have some cotton floating around, but anything new I try to get full poly or poly blend. Trick is finding stuff that isn't either super tight base layer or bright obnoxious athletic colors.
