Shell Oil Strike

My thoughts: why are you anti-union?

Honestly, probably because my job is to supervise 30 of them in a shop environment, and every day is like babysitting overgrown 3 year olds. All they do is complain about what's WRONG with their employer and how they are entitled to more, more, more... Instead of being grateful that their employer pays them a MORE than fair wage, pays for ALL of their healthcare, and generally treats them well, all they do is complain, then try and suck more and more out of their employer at every union contract negotiation, instead of being grateful that their employer provided them with a means to provide for their family. I've always believed you WORK for what you want, it is not handed to you.

Shell is leading the talks on behalf of the companies, which range from larger companies like BP and ExxonMobil to smaller firms like Delek and HollyFrontier Corp, Reuters reported.
So will a strike be only against Shell or against all the represented companies?

So does this mean when gas is back at $4.00 a gallon, we should "thank" a union worker instead of a Arabic nation or stock broker... :sarcasm

Hmmm...$78,000 annual wages, plus what, another $500+ monthly for medical coverage for family that most of the rest of us working stiffs pay for ourselves (that's another $6,000 for those adding it up). Unions have had their time in most cases just having to justify their existence now by saying look what I go you this time, regardless of whether the company will go under because of it. Look what's happened in the US Auto industry for a simple generic answer.

I'm sure there'd be plenty of people clamoring for a job and pay like that. Probably pretty decent vacation and holiday benefits too. Oh, and paid overtime no doubt! Paid overtime...I wish!
