Saw this beauty a couple of days ago

Adventurist
Land Rover Series 2, pulling what looked like an Apache pop up camper. Definitely a blast from the past.

The apache's and similar trailers of that era were awesomely simple - like a basic tent stiched to a trailer. None of the complexity of a modern "pop up" and super light to boot. A couple camped near us a few years back in one that the guy had restored. Near pefect IMO.

I think my brother still has my folk's Apache. We grew up camping in that thing but last I saw it, it was in rough shape and needed a new floor, mattresses and tent. The lift up cabinet still functioned though.

I think Bear Creek Canvas makes replacement tents for these.

I know my brother priced replacement canvas for it and it was over $800. That plus the cost of new mattresses, redoing the floor, etc and it was more than the camper was worth. I'll have to ask him if he still has it stored though; if he does maybe someone would want to take it on as a project.
