As he generously does around each Overland Expo, Richard Bogert is offering a "Gear up for Overland" offer of 15 percent off all Safe Jack products, including the new universal base that functions as a stabilizer and load spreader for either a Hi-Lift or bottle jack. The Safe Jack site is here, and the promo code is GEARUP2016. The sale runs until May 20th.

Safe Jack will also be at the Expo with show specials.

If you haven't looked into Safe Jack products, they hugely enhance the versatility and safety of both the Hi-Lift and standard bottle jacks.

Richard is nice enough to sell his samples after the Expo is over, I've stake claim and paid for the 6 ton recovery kit wo/jack. Give him a call and make your own arrangements.
15% and freight :D

Just another +1 for anyone on the fence about this kit. Very stout, and I feel much better knowing I have a jackstand to go with my bottle jack, should I ever need to crawl under my rig while on trail...

The 6 ton kit with the jack is on back order. I pulled the trigger anyway. I've survived so far with out it, another 2-3 weeks ain't going to kill me.

WOW! When I ordered I know it said the 6 ton kits w/jack were back ordered, I thought it said two weeks, and I used the slow boat method for shipping...got my order today!

Overall first impressions with the jack kit are good. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of extension that can be obtained if needed. I didn't measure, but I'd say at least 2.5' with the jack collapsed. I'm a Harbor Freight bottle jack buyer, decided to go with the Safe-Jack version this trip. I think I'm glad I did, the jack has a collar at the top of the piston that fits the adapters like it was meant too!

If you decide to get the kit without the jack, I'd say to make damn sure its a snug fit for the adapters to your jack. All of the bling adapters in the world are useless if they are loose/cocked on the bottle jack before you even begin to use it.

The carry bag seems to be stout enough that it won't need to be replaced. There is plenty of room for everything, room for add on gear as well. I've got a wheel adapter hook thing for a Hi-Lift that I've been hauling around for 10 years and never used (seemed like a great idea when I bought it). It just found a new home.

I also bought the base plate ($39.95 version). It is about what I expected. I'd like to see a more custom fit version that has stepped clamps for the jacks that they sell. I'd pay another $20-30 for something of that sort, without having to go with the full nuts $179.95 baseplate. The problem I knew I would have when I ordered the baseplate are all of the random loose bits/pieces. Once I tear the packaging off, all of that stuff will wind up floating around in the bottom of the bag. Bonus points that the plate fits in the bottom of the bag quite nicely.

So I got a Safe Jack kit while at overland expo and am pretty impressed with it. It is easy to use, and the truck seemed very stable. Granted it was a test done in the driveway but it was still stable. I wrote a review for it on my new blog if you are interested. https://blkwgn.com/2016/05/29/review-safe-jack/

Good call on the piece of pipe for the jack handle extension Chris. Other than that, I think our initial impressions are about the same.
