RotoPax Are they Worth It?

I'm looking at ways to carry extra fuel on my Honda Pioneer 500. I could strap a cheap 1-5 gallon gas can on but that'd look a little too ghetto. Or I could affix a Nato Jerry Can Mount and go that way. What is it about Rotopax that makes them desirable?

The slim form factor and the multitude of mounting options make the rotopax cool...but I'm convinced there are better ways for your particular machine.

What about adapting motocross style fuel jugs?

At roughly $25 for a 5 gallon jug they're certainly less expensive than rotopax. And there are multiple mounting racks available for them that I'm sure you could adapt to your machines.

That's not too bad at all for that form factor. Their single mounts also appear to be $19 instead of Rotopax's $60. Wonder what the quality difference is in the mounts.

Sheet steel rather than being solid.

Yes. They're worth it.

Agreed. And while my personal preference for carrying fuel is Scepter cans, were they not an option for me I would certainly use RotoPax. They are very well made and I like the fact of how many different options there are.

If you read the description on their website they allude to the new product having thinner wall construction, damn I was excited about that extra 1/2 gallon. With the recent spat of 2 gal failures I'm not up for being the sacrificial crash test dummy
