REVIEW: Travelchair Joey Chair

We love our Joey Chair and have been using it and our Helinox One Chair as our overland camp chairs for some time now. We also like the Frontrunner Expander Chair, that is until someone stole it from us. In the end the tiny compact travel chairs tend to last, take up less space and keep weight down. Good post. After seeing these at our Toys for Tots event in 2014, I like the idea of something that packs down smaller yet provides a comfortable place to sit. I know in my own load plan that chairs seem to take up more room than is ideal. Even at the price point (these are not cheap chairs!) I think the value of their weight and pack-ability makes these well worth considering. The only other lightweight option I have found that is not mentioned above are the Snow Peak folding chairs which are my current choice.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the weight capacity on the Helinox chair?

Thanks for sharing Bryon and Sarah!

Thanks Dave. Load capacity is 320 lbs on the Helinox Chair One, and 300 lbs on the Joey Chair. I think the Joey Chair is quite the value when you compare it to its competitors.

The Snow Peak chairs are quite nice, but take up considerably more room and aren't cheap chairs either.

TravelChair was supposed to release the Roo chair, larger than the Joey, with 350lb capacity, in January, but that already went by.

I'm REALLY hoping they haven't decided to skip it in favor of the Joey, which is too small, IMHO.

The page for the Roo just says coming soon/out of stock. I sent them a note again today. The last one generated no response. Kinda odd, someone asking about new products gets the brush off.

This thread is relevant to my interests. I hope one of you will update this if the Roo ever sees the light of day.
