REI Camp Tables? anyone use them. Been looking for a good portable sturdy camp tables.
I recently acquired a Camp Chef Mesa table (thanks to Cris) and have the ALPS table you mentioned above. I'm tired of those short camp tables... these table with adjustable tables are sturdy, have 3 heights from "bar", "kitchen counter", and "squatty camp table" height - I'm too old to be bending over those typical camp table heights.I'm looking for portable (roll up) aluminum, for easy storage & transportation. Bob91yj I understand what your saying. I do not like to give my money to a business that doesn't support my activities or beliefs. I notice Cabelas, Camp Chef which has them too & ALPS Mountaineering (larger table) is 40% off right now.

Actually, I hear that may be changing.
Thanks to Greg for introducing that ALPS table to me.I like my Alps guide table though you can't put anything hot directly on the folding vinyl table top. Not a problem really. I use 4 d-ring spacers to sit the camp stove on. Storing them with the stove by sliding them over the propane hose before packing it away.

I'm surprised that wasn't your first post, and it took a couple days to say it. Are you getting soft on us? Who won the office pool?
Just messing with you, as I've been on the receiving end of that rant and I was expecting it this time around. Albeit I thought it would have materialized sooner.

Here's a crosspost of a review I did on the ALPS Guide table for your perusal. It is neither compact nor lightweight, though.
A couple of years ago, I bought an ALPS Mountaineering Guide Table from the discount vendor, The Climb. It was on sale for $79 for a table that was normally $150 retail, and $99 most discount places. This table is now available from Amazon for $59.99 with free Prime Shipping.
The top is 22" X 61", and can be adjusted to there heights; 30", 35.5", and 42". It weights about 25 pounds.

It is quick to set up, and very sturdy, especially at the lowest height. The feet swivel to self-level on uneven ground. Here's mine:
I haven't really used for much more than a snack/beverage table for the backyard, though, as it is pretty large. I have a small, no-name aluminum table I keep in the 4Runner all the time and use for lunch stops. Now that we have the Hiker trailer, we'll use the ALPS table more.
Some have concern cooking on the vinyl top. Others say it isn't a problem. I haven't tried it yet, but have a couple of pieces of 16" square faux tile to put underneath, just in case.
