I have a number of the Delorme Recreation Atlas' but I've seen some by Benchmark as well. What do you guys use as far as hard maps are concerned, and do you have a preference for one or the other and why? Thanks. Dan

It varies state by state. For example, the best one in Texas is Mapsco, but the best one for New Mexico is Delorme.

Amazon has a lot of options by benchmark. I am thinking about snagging the California version by benchmark for $22..

California is the only one that sells for $24.95. The rest are $22. Must be a big state or something...

I just called the company direct and ordered the California, Nevada, and Washington states atlases. After you spend $50, shipping is free. 888-797-9377. I spoke with Terry and she was very nice:)

I have the CA one... Its got a lot more detail... And hence pages, than most state atlases. Detail is good...

I have a collection of different atlases - I'm a big fan of the Gazeteers by Delorme and the Benchmark ones. I also love old paper maps. One can never have too many maps in the truck!

I think it might get ordered before the end of my shift at work today...

Bummer I missed that. This is strange though...from the link provided.

24 new from $16.50 13 used from $16.54

On a large scale I really like the DeLorme atlases and keep then in the car. For small scale work I use Nat Geo's TOPO software and print my own maps out. County, city and regional AAA maps are pretty good too. When I was in Michigan I got a lot of use out of plat books.
