Putting a price on historical objects

The day before yesterday I was walking along the beach in Pensacola and found what I believe to be a very old base of a very old wine bottle. As most folks know Pensacola has a lot of history dating way back to the 1500s and having the amount of archaeological experience I have I was able to recognize this and other things from my travels as being something being very old. So I took it to the University of West Florida's archaeology institute to try and get it dated. I was able to find out that it is from the early 1700s and has what is known as a case gin bottle. Had it been whole it's value would've been worth about seven to $800. It's one of the oldest things I've ever found while searching the bush, and even though it's just a broken piece of glass to most folks, to me it's priceless!
