Photo Bucket SUCKS!

photos.google.com

Also you can host your images using facebooks CDN

I often do this, using google photos and facebook. Free CDN.

Here is how it I do

Same thing works with facebook, and if you open dev tools in Chrome, you can also get the CDN link for Instagram images and stuff them in posts as well.

$399? You could buy your own server for that (a few of them actually...ask how I know). I'll admit as a host I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to stuff like this, but I can't recommend Facebook's, Google's, or any other big-boxes' photo service. Google still can't seem to figure out if they're pulling the plug on photo hosting or not, and we all know what Facebook is trying to do. If you have to go with a third party service I'd stick with something that's backed by a paid account like Amazon Prime Photos or Flickr Pro (yes, Flickr and I made up).

FWIW, there's plenty of storage space and bandwidth right here in the AA Media Galleries, and we don't charge a dime.

A little late to the party Bob... :lol but still truth nonetheless.

I prefer uploading photos though AAV now since I've lost all faith in photo**ckit a number of years ago... and the threads with missing links... Gah. :rollingpin

You have to remember I'm border line STUPID when it comes to the interweb. I've been using PhotoBucket for years with no issues, mostly because I knew how to use it...now this. I should have known better...I don't remember the site, but in the early 2000's there was a photo hosting site that went poof in the middle of the night.

I don't have a Facebook account or any other social media accounts. My internet surfing consists of a few news sites, AAV, Expo, and now an RV forum...I barely e-mail.I used to upload all of my stuff to a web site forum run by a friend that had "infinite storage capacity", that went poof in the middle of the night when he shut the forum down.

I did finger out how to buy stuff on the interweb...that was a mistake!

This is the only site that I currently post photos to. I know there is a thread telling us how to make that happen. I'll have my 7 year old grandson walk me through it!

Sorry to pollute the AAV forum with so many broken posts.

Any interest in starting one of the "give Bob $$$" fund raiser things to host a PhotoBucket account?

Will they at least let you download your own photos? No doubt there's stuff in the terms of service already agreed to that let them do whatever they want, but you'd think they'd at least allow that from a CYA standpoint. If not, I expect we'll all get a giggle over a class action in the near future.

Ummmm, not sure. I saw on the other forum that people were downloading photos. Most of mine are on my computer somewhere, or I put them on a CD.

It's the going through all of the threads I have ever posted a pic on that suddenly became worthless that pisses me off.

I feel ya there. I still haven't finished replacing all the photos from back when I used Flickr as a host, when they decided to randomly change all the links. Sad to say not even us pros have a shortcut there, it's all tedious one-at-a-time editing... :(

Reminds me of the old adage, "If you're not paying for the service you're the commodity being sold." No such thing as a free lunch.
