No Refrigeration Required!

This road-trip I am going it without refrigeration. I, like many of you, have a travel fridge, a National Luna in my case, and I have a nice cooler…. but during these wanderings I have decided to go with no food requiring refrigeration. Does anyone else go with no "refrigeration?" I posted a list of foods with photographs I am eating this trip, if anyone has other ideas please let me know. I don't have any canned goods in this list, trying to see what else, other than canned, people recommend!

Thanks!

And I thought I was the only one, who thought like this.

Last year on a three day canoe trip, I took only foods that did not need refrigeration, but I went old school. I made several pounds of venison jerky, a block of cheese, some venison summer sausage, fresh eggs from a neighbors farm, some apples, tea, sugar, potatoes and a few other things i don't remember. I was a neat experience going mountain man style. :canoe:canoe:canoe:canoe:canoe:canoe

Augie, I am not against having refrigeration but I just want to have other option for when no ice or power source is available! Lots of great ideas have been suggested so far!

We do sort of the same menu for float trips augie. Venison jerky, dried fruit, smoked cheeses, smoked meats, sliced apples, granola bars, grapes, and some sort of crunchy/salty snack get vacuum sealed in food saver bags and slit open when its time for a snack. For overnight trips I pack in some home canned goods; meats (venison, wild turkey or chicken), potato's, fruit (apples or blueberries) or maybe some home made chutney. Along with these can goods are some dry goods like boil in bag rice, instant taters or even a biscuit/cornbread mix.

On bigger overland style trips we use sort of the mix of home canned goods, smoked and dehydrated foods along with our fresh supplies.
