New proposal for NP camp grounds

I'll go on the record as being 100% opposed to this. Raising prices on SENIOR CITIZENS, or "blackout days" for them to use the public lands/parks that they worked and paid taxes on their whole damn lives is nothing but GREED.

Imagine (and this applies to all of us), looking forward to retirement your whole life, and the fixed income that comes in retirement for most, just to have your benefits changed and or eliminated.

The whole thing is driven by greed. I'm against the privatization and "concessioning" of parks.

Miller is one of three new RV industry representatives appointed to the Department of Interior’s “Made in America” Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee.

“The campground sites are not level, they’re worn-out gravel or dirt campsites, the electric hookups are 30 amps and a lot of our industry is 50-amp hookups for RVs, and there’s no Wi-Fi or connectivity of any kind,” he says. “Most of the generation using RVs now, they expect to have some access to the internet. Even if they’re out in the wild and the parks, they want to be connected.”

Oh no you don't.

There’s something to be said for being unplugged. Off the net. No signal.

Sometimes, being “out there” with no connectivity forces us to refocus and reflect.

I enjoy that :)

Agree. Most trips I would turn off the cell phone once I hit the dirt.

My wife and I enjoy being away from cell signals, but we do not do many NP campgrounds anyway. Not dog friendly. When we need extra power, we bring our own.
