Its not an "actual" flag but a likeness so proper flag protocol / customs/ ettiquite wouldnt apply.
Technically, based on interpretaion, "thin blue line" types of flags are a no-no....
however, if applying / envoking the freedom of speech criteria anything is fair game, really...
I, personally, dont get-wrapped-around-the-axle; so long as something is not done egregiously with the intent of disrespect toward our National Ensign.
There are MANY sources that cite flag protocol.... some have mild misinformation but the gneral rules are covered by most. Im by no means an expert but I do play one on TV and DID say at a Holiday Inn Express before.....
