Mean Mother Multi Length Shovel

no I wouldn't be impress or let it go to my head TangoBlue. I was asking a simple question if anyone familiar with it since it is collapsible & if they have one.

This. A shovel is a shovel. Unless you like to bedazzle yours in Arkansas - we don't judge here.

You sound annoyed at my reply; if so, I apologize. However, it was merely composed to agree with Chris's "a shovel is a shovel" and to poke humor at a "bedazzled" shovel. Which in my familiarity with the product is "bedazzled" by virtue of it's pre-engineered collapsible "failure points". KISS applies.

Please don't be so easily offended by my replies... I have no dislike for you and enjoy your contributions on the forum... but I do have a dry sense of humor.

Tactical shovel!!!

It's amazing the garbage that's out there on the market. I use a shovel I bought at Ace Hardware years ago. If I ever feel like I need to bedazzle my shovel I'll paint flames up it and engrave my initials on the handle.

I am pretty basic, I have been carrying this one for over 5 years https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004S1QN/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I know there are some very popular shovels aimed at the offroad market, but I have never seen one that makes me want to spend more than $20 for a device to dig a hole

Mine is remarkably similar to this. Others with full size trucks have commented it would be nice at times to have along haldled shovel but I haven’t needed one myself.

this is the feed back I like, plain simple shovel. Didn't know if one was better than the other or out performs. Wanted to know what every one uses, in my 5th wheel I used a small russian entrenching tool I bought at a army surplus store. Used it to make a fire ring or clean out an existing fire ring.

Some things remain simple because the complicated versions don't work as well.

Truck and trailer camping = long handle hardware store shovel.
Jeep camping = A surplus folding army shovel with pick. Has dug me out and dug many a "Gopher Hole" out in the desert. (Especially after chili night.)

My minions got me one of those swiss army shovels.... hilarious. I actually carry it in my vechile out of respect for THEM. .... Also, it wold make a great wig splitter in a self defense scenario... and I have a plane jane shovel for real world stuff. As for a shovel for digging holes and getting unstuck.... anything you can use as a digging implement that does the trick is fine in my book. An e-tool did just fine in my Jeep days... As long as whatever you choose works for YOU, thats all that matters. Of course simple is as simple does and sometimes less is more... but if a bedazzled, flame covered, gold plated shovel works for you and makes you happy at the end of the day.... go for it! Just have thick skin for when your buddies bust your chops.

Yep, that's the size and style I prefer. In my experience, when you need a shovel, you need a shovel. I do carry an old school USMC E-tool as well, it's pretty convenient in certain situations and doubles as a camp toilet.
