What can I say, I was excited about the prospect of camping in Big Bear this past weekend! With the National Forest closure and Mountain Rendezvous rescheduling I did a bit of searching and found Holcomb Valley Ranch, a 400-acre private property on the north side of the lake. The sites are not cheap, but are between one and five acres which gives them a fantastic feeling of privacy and tranquility. There are trails around the property and they owners are OHV friendly. I'm really impressed and absolutely plan to go back when things are open again!
Our campsite:
No wood fires but the propane fire pit worked great!
The view from our site (F9).
The horses which come right up to the site.
Working off the beer and s'mores.
