High School Football Leadership Challenge

I am not sure this fits in as part of AAV, but I figure there are a few folks who will appreciate an event we just completed. We started this when my son was on the high school football team and have done it several times since then. The idea is to get the team leaders and the coaches out to our property for about 24 hours. During that time, we put them (coaches have to do everything the boys do) through a demanding obstacle course through the woods and then work on concepts of leadership with them. It is not about football per se, but about being a leader in all aspects of your life, how brotherhood and love for each other can propel you and those around you to have a positive impact on your sphere of influence. I recruit local (and sometimes not so local) veterans and business leaders, to come and speak with the boys about this topic. Then the boys have to relate who has been a leader in their own life and why. Every year we have had some true break through moments. I am proud of them for that and happy with the way things turned out this year.
