Getting Fired From the Forum

Okay, so do I turn in my resignation or just get fired? I want to be a contributing member, and I had a quick jaunt to Yellowstone planned this week (Bison are cooler than fireworks). Then my grandma died (don't worry about posting condolences, she was 95, and had many more adventures than I could ever hope for....I just sleep in a tent sometimes...she actually lived in one for a couple of years, including winters, in Idaho) So my plans changed and I was already writing in my head what would be 'The Great Fowler Family Road Trip 2013' :truckas we would be leaving Lander, swinging up around the south side of the wind river range, up through Kemmerer to Pocatello Idaho, where we would stay a few days, do some playing, maybe hit the Inman Trail, then up the Idaho side of the Tetons, into Yellowstone, staying at bridge bay, maybe even renting a rowboat :rafting then down through Grand Teton National Park :mountain. Pretty sweet loop. And guess what. You will all love this. I FORGOT MY FREAKING CAMERA!
Never fear, I have my iPhone, but its just no good for longer range photos....

So you can fire me now.....:campfire

How do you forget your camera!:dunno That's high priority on the check list! I check my camera all batteries and memory cards before I leave.

Fired would be taking it easy on you, this is grounds for execution!:flaming

The only thing left for you to do is kill yourself with your kitana like the Japanese to save the honor of your fellow adventurers, In the event that you don't own a kitana a rusty butter knife is a suitable substitute.:D

Don't worry Fowldarr about forgetting your camera...Tango always takes his but never gets around to posting his trip reports. :stir ;)

I know your pain. I did a solo canoe camping trip on Lake Jackson quite a few years ago. I had one of those waterproof disposable cameras. Planned on taking some 'cool' shots. Afternoon storm blows through leaving some epic clouds and sunset rays behind the Tetons. Scramble to get the camera out, can't find it. I'm still searching for it while the clouds lose all their luster and turn to gray blobs drifting over the horizon. As I am unpacking back at the house I feel a strange lump in my hydration pack, yup, camera.

So perhaps you can relive your journey for us in words. The trip alone is worthy of a good narrative.

Right? That guy has been like... ummm... coast to coast by backroads this year and nada.

Word on the street is that it's all earmarked as exclusive content for a large overland magazine pending payment via a pallet of Exofficio underoos... We'll probably never see it here on AAV.

Gomen nasai. Internet has been TU for the last week and Verizon hasn't been too helpful. All I have is this phone.

Well, I almost have my wife convinced to buy a replacement camera....the kicker is it would come out of her furniture fund. (Which will cost me a lot more than the amount of money I borrow from it) Nothing too exciting to report yet anyway. Just hanging out with the family in Idaho. Going to the zoo today (Ross Park Zoo is a pretty cool place, deals only in indigenous to Idaho species, and they are all rescues (most orphaned at young ages). I will iPhone that for those of you that don't mind some animals in captivity pics. I"m normally not a big fan of zoos, but this one is small, and only takes care of those that really need it.

Well, bought a camera, the regularly scheduled trip, and excuses for lack of posting may continue.

Unfortunately every man can be tempted to sell his soul for what he desires most.

But underware? Really? ;)

I see the Haggis clan ordered Chinese take-away last night.

Flippin' Verizon's recording, after you endure the automated menu and Siri's evil automated sister, simply states that they've had a large volume of trouble calls since the storms and to keep trying... "click"... dial tone...

At this rate I may never cash in on that sweet Ex-Offico boxer deal...
