Review: Tembo Tusk Extreme Duty Lantern Hanger and Paper Towel Holder
Finding a place to hang a lantern at night can be a challenge, especially in desert or open terrain where nature provides no ready option. Even in forested terrain where trees may be near, more often than not they are in the wrong location for lantern hanging. The newly released Extreme Duty Lantern Hanger and Paper Towel Holder from Tembo Tusk provides an option that addresses this need for strategically placed camp lighting while simultaneously addressing the need for securely hanging paper towels and other camp cooking gadgets where you need them - at the table.
Hand made in the USA and featuring powder coated aluminum construction and stainless hardware, it is quite sturdy when assembled and will easily handle everything from a Hozuki Lantern up to an old school Coleman. This hanger works great as a bug decoy in camp too - if you're having a bug problem just set this up away from where you are seated and let the bugs swarm the light leaving you free to relax. We also like the ability to have paper towels at the ready, and we really like the fact that they are secured from wind or falling into the dirt. And if you've ever left a roll of these out you know that field mice and such LOVE to make a mess of this excellent nesting material - not a concern with this setup.
Below you can see the entire Lantern Hanger and Paper Towel Holder broken down. The robust clamp allows attachment to any camp table or convenient surface up to 2 inches thick. Adding or subtracting sections gives you the desired height up to a maximum of about 4 feet. The stainless hooks can be used as tools to tighten or release the poles during assembly by inserting them into the pre-drilled holes in the poles and turning them in opposite directions.
