Hello I'm going to be purchasing a cab tent here within the next couple of weeks is the front runner product good or should I look a for different company

Everything I've every used / seen in action from front runner has been too notch, although I've never used one of their roof tents.

I have used it and I lent it to my buddy this weekend. He liked it soo much that he bought it. So far their products have been very good. If you need some more pictures or details let me know.

They make great stuff. The only thing I can say, and Raul from Xpedition Outfitters above can confirm, is the RTT he purchased had a mattress that was way TOO short in relation to the floor space of the tent. I suspect it was an isolated issue but I would confirm the size of the mattress beforehand as there was a TON of wasted space.

Frontrunner is good because it is so light but I would check out Cascadia Vehicle Tents out of Bend Or, they are incredible. I have the Frontrunner rack and it is bomb proof with one small flaw. When you use the tiedown rings you must remember righty tight lefty loosey because when using ratchet straps or rope depending on which side of the tie down ring the force is will either loosen the tie down ring or keep it in place. The tie down rings are only a 1" ring so it's critical.

Here is the scoop on the short mattress, it is intentional, not a mistake, and the reason is simple. your boots, shoes, mocs, all contain debris after climbing around outside, it is a place to remove shoes and place them in a space where it does not interfere bidding

I had a collapsible basket that I would hang below my RTT for shoes and dirty gear. Out of the rain, out of the tent. A couple screws and a low profile loop from home depot.

Dirty gear in a tent shortens its life, plain and simple. The "outer" the better. :)

Now this is a really great idea Mr Leary, Im stealing it for my Front Runnner....
