Desert Rendezvous 2014

Have there been any preliminary dates set for Desert Rendezvous 2014? I'd like to include some info about it in our charter issue release but need to know something by early next week. Post up if plans have been started…thanks!

I'd be more interested in learning about that Eastern Rendezvous 2014... oops.

What I can say is that there are plans underway for an AAV-sponsored gathering on the right half of North America. Negotiations are underway to have access to a 26-acre location suitable for large groups that is closely located to another 125-acres of privately leased land with river front access, custom built trails, and natural obstacles that is surrounded by another 8,000-acres of National Forest with a well known Off-Highway Vehicle Trail System.

This will be held in a centrally located state on the Eastern seaboard, most likely in the early fall of 2014. Hope you'all like pulled pork...

As for the original question, March is the target month, and there is usually a poll posted to determine the best weekend to fit the most schedules. The poll usually shows up around January.

Frank I can get you any info you need, shoot me a PM please.

Dave, I'll shoot you a PM in just a sec.

Regarding an event on the east coast, that sounds awesome!!! And did you say "pulled pork"? My chops are drooling...

;)

Tim Tim Tim... did we not discuss OPSEC? What if the Nazgul catch wind of our plans before we're ready? :lol

Well, since that cat is out of the proverbial bag here, let's shed some light on this for our eastern kin to gloat... er, plan... on.

Here's the deal about the AAV events on tap for 2014:

Desert Rendezvous happens every March in the desert in Southern California, 2014 will be the 4th annual iteration of this event. Date is TBD and will be announced here on AAV in January.

Mountain Rendezvous has been an October event, but this will be adjusted for the 4th annual MRV in 2014 to ensure that we have some space between the Eastern Rendezvous that fall.

Right now there will be three AAV events in 2014 - DRV, ERV and MRV

The Eastern Rendezvous is slated for fall of 2014, the location of which is a state secret at this point... but suffice it to say that the Vermont Overland Rally's location has NOTHING on the ERV location as it is much more centrally located and its vast acreage supports mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing and features extensive forested OHV trails. It will have a decidedly unique vibe and be in keeping with the original vision of the Rendezvous.

We will be giving this event a name at some point after January but the American Adventurist Eastern Rendezvous will do for now.

A contingent from the west will be attending, I'm told I must run some type of a gauntlet and swim before I get to eat pie with the Eastern Elders. I'm game ;)
