computer hacked

My computer was hacked & possible accounts compromise: banking accounts, business accounts, personal accounts like Facebook, e-mail & message boards.
What ever strange activities, posted junk or perverted crap made in my name isn't by me. Just a heads up. Lucky I got my banking accounts, business accounts squared & they being monitored. I acted quickly. All my passwords are changed & most of my user names changed.

It came in on my email stating as a purchase.

QFUY shop
Unit 9-10 Lane, London
ST8 7PH
United Kingdom (Great Britain)
Tel.: 01770736187
VAT Number: 922603640

when I clicked on the attachment, like a invoice, all hell broke loose.

It doesnt sound like it was the source in this case, but computer fixers have said that hacks of facebook were one of the biggest security issues they saw. Giving facebook your email password or other passwords is retarded. Hacking facebook, which one person said wasnt that hard, gives them access to your email and whatever info is in it.

Best of luck with all that.

my facebook password is different than my yahoo pass word. Retarded? no, anything you do on line as of purchases or joining a "forum" require your email address.

Its not a matter of having different passwords, but facebook asks people to give them their email password so they can see if any of their email contacts are on facebook so you can connect with them.

Its also not about your address, its about letting any other entity have access to your email password, as facebook likes to do.

Its been a while since I was aware of this, there may be other ways they get in the back door so to speak. In googling it, it seems to be common to discover facebook has somehow accessed people email address book. They may do it from logging into one from the other. I never was happy with that idea.

I agree with you Malamute, brentbba & understand what both of you are saying. Facebook users have their accounts hacked all the time. I have clients & customers send me notifications. I'm required by the companies I do business with to have a facebook account (business) as one of their licensee's. Their is no way around it if I am going to use their product. It's in the bi annual contract I agree'd to sign. Do I like facebook? NO. I think its a place that harbors trolls, degenerates & braggers seeking to build their ego's or tear others down.
I do understand about clicking on suspicious links. Most suspicious links usually goes to my spam on my emails were I just delete it altogether. But this one was in my inbox & before I clicked on it I went threw my records of purchases, that's what made me click on it. It was in my in box & I had NO record of this purchase & I wondered if my credit card was hacked. Most companies I do business with requires a credit card on file. It seems no one now days does the 30 to 45 day billing charges any more. I have one company I do business with that still does this the 30 to 45 day billings, Mossy Oak Camo, since I'm one of their oldest accounts, they never switched me over to a credit card required account.
Another firearm re-finisher had the same issue but in a email that was acting as acquiring his services. All my accounts are being monitored for suspicious activities. Am I worried, not really.

Well thats sucky.

Hope you get it sorted out without any trouble.

The retarded part I mentioned earlier was knowingly allowing an entity like facebook into your email or contact list.

I semi-regularly get spam email from addresses of people I know, correct email address and everything, but its obviously spam. Their email contacts were compromised somehow, quite possibly from a facebook hack that gave access to their email and contacts.

One variation of email spam, the name appearing is from someone I know, but if I hover my cursor over the name, the actual address it came from shows, and its obviously not from the person I know.

What I've seen an explosion of in my email is the scam on resetting your account. Getting lots from slightly misspelled naming of Amazon and PayPal, both of which I have an account. All that's in the message typically is Hi Brentbba! Like I'm really stupid enough to click on that? Sheez there must be some pretty dumb folks. Some of them look more legitimate with actual text, etc. in the body of the email but it's all the same scam.

I've even seen a huge increase here at work to our A/P inbox that 'look' like legitimate emails with invoices to the company that all start in our junk folder. We just delete them all. If it really is a legitimate supplier, they'll call eventually.

Edit - add Sams Club to the list...and an email from a Liberian company!

You may want to go to the 3 credit reporting agencies and freeze your credit reports if you haven't done so already because of the Experian F-up.

I have never heard of Facebook asking for an email password to get into my contact list, or for any other reason.

I may be misremembering exactly how they do it, but they ask for access to your contacts in some way to see if anyone you know is on facebook. I laughed out loud when I saw that. Uh, no, you cant have access to my contacts. I think logging in to one media format from another may let them have some access, smart phones may be more problematic in that regard. There were many references of people wondering how they got their contacts in the link I posted of the search.

This was just one of the results searching for facebook accessing contacts,

https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/?id=10204070054092171

It did not seem settled exactly how they were doing it in some cases.

In my case, they never got anything, I dont have a smart phone, dont allow or do any apps of any kind on my computer from them, dont have a google or any other type of account that cooperates with facebook, and when they asked to see my contacts to see if anyone I knew was on there, I refused. I have little connection with facebook, and always dump cookies before and after going there. The less they know about me the better in my opinion. I guess I'm the opposite of what they want.

And how is Mark Zucker going to get even richer if people have an attitude like that?

believe me they know more about than you than you actually think. The problem is technology & how far they have gone with it. Another problem is the individual who owns the devices. You can not escape data surveillance in this country no matter what you do. No matter how far you try to distance yourself from technology, they know. The object & practice of liberty only lies in the limitation of government.

That's written that way intentionally to find the stupid people and make everyone else ignore them. They want people with money who regularly lose arguments with house plants so they can be manipulated. They don't want us to respond. They'd never get any money from us.
