BLM Land

Just skimmed the article, looks like there is some good info/links there. I'll have to take a longer look at it at some point. Thanks for sharing!

I read it earlier today, lots of good stuff in there about parts of Idaho and Oregon and the surrounding area. I'd imagine most of the BLM information is pretty well known by this crowd.

I skimmed it, but have to give big props to TCM for not location dumping like so many digital magazines (and blogs) are guilty of doing. :thumbsup

Lots of cool sights to see in Oregon. Looks beautiful up that direction in some of the places they've been.

They mention never having paid for camping on BLM land. In my travels, the only place I've ever paid to camp on BLM was above Tom's Place in the Sierra Nevada's. Was around $20/night which isn't any worse than forest service campgrounds.

I think my all time favorite BLM location so far is Alabama Hills at the base of Mt. Whitney.

Yea, usually the developed campgrounds on BLM are paid. Like all the ones around Moab. Most are honor system with iron ranger, some have camp hosts.

I'm heading down to Owyhee River Canyon this weekend, if the weather cooperates with my plans. Some nice trails out there. Found a group here in SW Idaho that does runs around the area.

^^^^Any info you can pump out of your Idaho friends regarding potential boondocking sites in the Stanley area would be greatly appreciated for the Road to Totality trip.

I actually know of a few spots, there is a bunch of dispersed a little further down from Red Fish there. I checked some out when we where there last year. Don't have coordinates. But I might be able to get some stuff out later when it's warmer up there.
