We actually got our camera out this trip. Looks like I'm getting the lens/camera cleaner, but still needs work.
We found a group going out for a day run in Big Bear. I hate Big Bear, it's just outside the reaches of a pleasant day trip, camping is difficult to co-ordinate. I think we found a new answer this trip...the Motel 6 in Big Bear.
Anyway, here's what I've got.
My junk.
The weather was mild, but crazy all day long. Overcast with some sprinkles to bright sunshine, we had it all. No thunder/lightening though.
I was the sweeper on the trail. I had no idea that this was Richards's first run until I found him in this predicament. Camera angle keeps you from seeing how far up in the air the right rear is. When he got to this point, the vehicle was stable so I had him hold the position until Machelle could get the camera out. Richard looked at me like I was a little nuts.:sombrero:
I decided that hanging 210 pounds of ballast off of the right rear might do the trick. (can't wait to show my doc that I'm "fat" for a reason!).
After creeping forward a bit, the back end finally started coming down.
A little more crawling and it'll be back on the ground.
Success! :wings: Now Richard knows the off camber limits of his rig!:sombrero:
Lunch! Wheat Thins, Easy Cheese (squirt cheese) and beef jerky...now that's some health food!
We ended up spending the night at the Motel 6 in Big Bear. There is a pizza joint right down the street, "No Name Pizza" that makes one of the better pizza's I've had in a while. We drove the Jeep down to "The Village" and wandered around with the rest of the tourists before heading back to our digs at the 6.
Many thanks to Nathan and everyone else that came out. Nathan always leads awesome runs with a random mixture of vehicles and skill levels. Always make for a fun day.
