I have 6 Puma 60gal upright 6060V air compressors in my business shop here on my farm. 4 of them run the shops equipment fine w\o troubles, 2 of them are back up in case one or two breaks down. They run 4 media blast cabinets set @ various air pressure with various media, hydro graphic printing tank to print camo, 10x10 paint booth, various air nozzles throughout the shop.
Lately I've notice these Puma air compressor pressure control switches are not lasting as long as they did. I'm barely getting 8 months to a year & half out of them on the average. I called Puma a few days back & talked with a feller he stated that Puma is going cheap on these pressure control switches, different company over seas building them now for penny's on the dollar. I always have a few back up switches so I am not down very long. The one I am replacing today, I replaced 5 1\2 weeks ago.

I am good about servicing these compressor's on a regular basis, every 60 days, oil changes, filters cleaned, checking belt tension & about every 2 years replacing the air valve plates on top of the cylinder heads. These been great air compressor's & served me well for almost 15 years. They run 10 to 12 hours a day 5 days a week. Ive had one compressor blow up "thrown a rod" just replace the whole compressor motor, replace 4 electric motors, those are the only big issues I've had. The tanks have auto drain valves that dump into a drain automatically.

Has anyone notice how parts (not just air compressor's) are more cheaply made now days. I even notice gun parts are done cheaply too.

Have you ever thought about going rogue and utilizing another brand? Even if you had to remote mount it it's not a big deal to run some Synflex and 3 or 4 wires? Perhaps from Grainger's or Mc Master Carr
