It's that time of year again...Garrett, his buddy Andy, Machelle and I are all heading south of the border bright and early Wednesday morning to pit with BFG Pits again. We will be at Pit 2 this year, Race Mile 254 (Pacific Ocean side). Anyone in the area that needs help or just wants to stop and say hi...bring it!

I was smart enough to run to Home Depot prior to departure and pick up a couple of rain suits...they came in handy Wednesday for Pit Exchange", it rained most of the day.

If you've ever seen a picture of a muddy truck, you've seen everything there was to see at this years Baja 1000. The race was delayed for 24 hours due to course conditions...while an inch or two of rain in most places is no big deal, in the desert it is an epic flood.

I spent the majority of my time in the pit scraping mud off of lights. We didn't account for opening a car wash at the pit, so water was at a premium. I ended up using a 2 gallon bucket, kept filling it up with cooler water. The water in the bucket was filthy, but it was wet. The mud was often up to an inch thick. Out of the first 10 or so Trophy Trucks we saw, I think one of them still had all of its body work.
