100acre

Adventurist
My friends own 9,500 acres and lease an additional 6,500 in western Colorado. I have full permission to go out a seek old fossils. This area was once part of a vast inland ocean and in the NW of Colorado its was a coastal flood plain back in the Cretaceous period 65-145 million years ago. So while I was out exploring in my Honda Pioneer 500 I stopped along different areas searching for elusive fossils. I did come across a distant relative of dinosaurs but it did want to eat me. So, I was not only richly rewarded by not getting bit but also by finding many bones in one spot but I was also able to locate two different dinosaur teeth from two different spots. Absolutely amazing I also found a piece of turtle shell from the Cretaceous period as well. Very exciting place to be. This is all at the base of the Roan Plateau.
