CLEANUP CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS:
American Adventurist, Tread Lightly and the Bureau of Land Management are teaming up to eliminate trash on public lands for the 6th year in a row!

First, here is timeline and the map of the cleanup site for reference:

SAT:
0900 Desert Cleanup - All Hands

1200 Desert Cleanup Trash Photo at dumpster/Group Photo. Raffle tickets disbursed to participants.

Note that we will start at the property line of the state park to the west and move east along the RR tracks cleaning up shooter trash for a mile or so - see green box above and map from BLM depicting the area of concern.

In a Nutshell:

1. Muster at the dumpster at 0900 for SAFETY BRIEF. See cleanup area in green box on map above, basic idea is that area focused on the shooter trash to be seen south of the RR tracks. Safety and situational awareness are key. We're not going more than 50 meters south of the RR tracks on foot looking for distant trash - keep it simple and safe. This will take a bit and is a good walk - it will be strenuous. I recommend hat, brightly colored clothing and hydration source (Camelback etc) - we will move as a group for safety.

2. Random folks may be out there on saturday. I will lead and "walk the tracks" enacting a cease fire the old fashioned way if anyone is there ahead of our cleanup team on foot (you guys). We will finish ("ENDEX") NLT 1200 where we will take the cleanup group photo and dole out raffle tickets to those who did the work. Easy day, and I will lead this on foot myself. Please follow directions so I can keep this safe, fun and easy!

3. If you don't help cleanup the shooter trash, you don't get a raffle ticket. RSVP alone does not guarantee a raffle ticket

4. Trash bags are NOT provided. Bring your own.

5. BLM is providing a 30 yard dumpster that will be up somewhere between the turn off from Split Mtn and the State Park/BLM boundary signs along the RR track there - should be the same spot as 2015 unless the driver screws up. ALL trash and dunnage goes in the dumpster!

6. NO DRINKING during this evolution - snakes and duds and danger require your full awareness!
